Cruise layout 6 - shop

Wow this photo makes me think of so many things! Hard to belive but it actually poured rain a few minutes after I took this photo! Crazy!
I am quite amused by the little measuring tape border. I scanned it, then copied a bunch onto Word, printed em off and then tea dye inked them.
I made both the flowers and the newsprint button... I've been thinking about doing a tutorial on them.... anyone intrested?

Supply List:

  • ink- tea dye distress ink, old olive, chocolate chip
  • stamps- postage background
  • paper- confetii, old olive, newsprint, MM ledger, SU in colour, measuring tape

old to new - turtles tin!

Old to new... so recyclable, so rustic, so... NEW! I love creating new things from the old. This tin (believe it!) used to be a turtle's chocolate tin! The orange and white stripes are part of the original pattern!
The wings were cut from some scrap fabric. I also cut out the guitar freehand. The background is just plain old newspaper. Very recycled!
Instead of trying to cover the whole edge with paper, I just wrapped some lace and ribbon around it. So simple... except for the struggle with streching the lace enough to get the safety pin in :P
I tied a "bow" in front.... maybe I should stick with knots lol
I challenge you all to make something new from a recyled item! Please let me know if you have posted anything recyled and I will most definately go check it out! Thanks!
Supply list:
  • ink- tea dye distress ink
  • paper- orange, newspaper, chocolate chip, metalic gold(ish)
  • other- safety pins, lace, ribbon, wings, turtle's tin

Spring Memories

Dont you just love looking through old photos and finding those special ones that just bring back memories? Well I do. This was a photo for a school project a few years ago. It makes me think of the first green bud on a tree and the bright days of childhood. Haha sounds silly but I love it.

I took a pictire of the tree, then ran inside to print it, then ran back outside before anything could change, then tacked it to the tree and took a photo of the photo on the subject. I have always loved pictures in pictures.

Cruise layout 5 - key west

This is one of my favourite pages so far. I like using big circles in the background lately. Since I dont have a large circle cutter I just traced a bowl and cut it out.

I covered this big "K" in a piece of making memories passport paper.
The photos I used for this are just 3 quick snapshots from the ship. I think they are neat because they show 3 slightly different views of the same thing.

Supply List:

  • ink- tea dye distress ink, choclate chip
  • paper- world traveler old map (heidi swap), baja breeze, blue bayou, MM passport, MM ledger, confetti, dark brown, velum
  • other- rub ons, brads, chipboard letter, letter stickers

annual scrap

Hey Bloggers! I'm sorry I haven't been posting regularly lately but im having computer issues. Yesterday my net wasn't working at all and today it is just really slow. I can't upload pictures right now either. I will be posting more cruise LOs asap.
Today is my annual scrap party! I am just setting up the table and friends will be arriving at 11:30. I doubt I will actually get much done but it will be great fun :) I might post some pictures of this amazing event too.

Thanks for reading!

Cruise layout 2 - fancy drinks

I like this simple layout because it has alot of free space but the focus is still on the pictures. This is one of the few pages I would ever not include journaling or even the date because the pictures tell the story better than words. It will be in my cruise album so there is no need for the date either.
In 2 of the 3 pictures the date was in the corner of the photo. It was clashing with the colour scheme and was not very eye appealing so I covered one date with a flower and the other with the "relax" rub on.
Supply List:

  • ink- tea dye distress ink, old olive
  • paper- old olive, pink pirouette, ridinghood red, saeshells
  • stamps- on the edge alpha
  • other- prima flowers, buttons, drink stickers, travel rub ons, fancy edge scissors
