Dog Photos

I have some completed projects that are just waiting to be photographed but I havent had time yet... maybe tomorrow. I just thought I'd share these picture of our dog Rocky. (we have another dog named Skippy) Rocky was born June 1st... this is him in August. Such a little guy!

Here is a much more recent picture. Look how much he has grown in about 7 months! He is much bigger than Skippy and alot more hyper too. He sure wants to go run outside in this beautiful weather!

vintage label maker

Can you guess what this is? Yeah! its an old DYMO label maker! I don't think it is actually made by DYMO but the top piece is missing so I can't tell.
Some of the letters don't work like they used to but it is still super cool!

It was my mom's when she was a girl and I've had it on my craft table for a while. I really think it's quite cool. She is amused that I think its vintage :)

Relax and Enjoy

I just read the new Memory Makers magazine that was all about organizing! It was soooo inspiring and I even cleaned off my desk. I am actually usually quite organized but there were some unessesary things in my space. This magazine has so many awesome ideas. If I had a whole scraproom I would definately be going organizationally crazy :)For the card- I used my canvas stamp for the background. In all the time I have has this stamp, I don't think I ever tried this.... a bit sad haha. I like the pretty colour and bright look it gives. I used a new cuttlebug dot border on the velum and put a little rub-on it it.

tip: when using a new embossing folders, try it a few times on scrap paper so when you use it on your good paper it wont tear through.
Supply list:
  • ink- green, blue, and yellow pigment ink
  • paper- whisper white, wild wasabi, tempting turquoise, velum
  • stamps- SU canvas
  • other- cuttlebug and borders, prima flower, button, rub-on, tape measure

Easter bird

This is my first easter card of (hopefully) many. I like the grren and pink combo- very spring. The little bird was cut from some scrap grungeboard. I put white pigment ink on it then cameo coral ink. The white makes the pink brighter but be carefull about mixing colours on the inkpads. I used a tiny gem for the bird's eye.
Supply list:
  • ink- tea dye distress ink, cameo coral
  • paper- gable green, groovy guava, prima tea and silk collection, wild wasabi
  • other- scallop scissors, chipboard, grungeboard, clear ep, bling, ribbon, edge distesser, staples, circle cutter

I felt very un-productive this weekend... only got to blog once, didn't create anything and didn't get around to cleaning. I spent Saturday and Sunday working with the exception of some homework and stopping at my fav scrapbook store. Right now I am editing my Social essay but Word decided to freeze. Sigh... so little time.

I made this card the other day and I sure do love these cute tickets. Such a simple card but it still looks cool because of the tickets.

Supply list:

  • ink- chocolate chip, tea dye distress ink, always artichoke
  • paper- MM ledger, light chipboard, always artichoke, dark brown
  • stamps- artfully asian
  • other- printed tickets, edge distresser, clear ep

Sunday Shopping!

While wandering around on my favourite scrapbooking store I stumbled upon these gorgeous papers. They are totaly my style right now! Very old fashioned, distressed and pretty. I think I might use some for scrapping our formal cruise dinner.
These are frome the new graphic 45 line called the fashionista collection. Super cute! check it out at http://g45papers.com/products.php
I recently printed off some pictures from google that looked very similar to this piece. I just adore it! This one is from the graphic 45 communique collection.
I also bought these prima flowers. They coordinate well with the paper. So amazingly awesome!
Here are a few close ups
If you have been reading my blog for awile you may have noticed I love using wings on my projects. These will definately help me create some awesome new things. They were regular $6 canadian but I got them on sale for $4.50. What a bargain!

ledger sprout

Here's a quick little green card. Again just a bit late for St. Patrick's day but oh well.

Tonight I am off to sleep over at the high school. Sounds fun hey!? We are raising money for Spread The Net. Just $10 will buy a mosquito net for the children in Africa. These nets not only prevent people from being bitten but they also kill the mosquitos. Mosquitos in Africa carry a deadly disease, called malaria. A child in Africa dies every 30 seconds because of this. Please check out their website at www.spreadthenet.org

green flower

I know my title is not very creative but I couldn't think of anything better to name this :) It is sorta a late St. Patrick's day card. I like the tickets and the newspaper flower most. I also used some of my favourite ledger paper by making memories. The main colour of the card is some old stampin up paper. It is atleast 2 or 3 seasons old... I really have no idea what its called and this was the last piece. I actually quite like the colour. It reminds me of tea on a cold winter night.

enjoy the journey

Happy Wednesday everyone! This week has felt so long already and it is only half over! Anybody have plans for this weekend? I hope to have some scrappin time (about time I did another layout) Well atleast the weather will be good :) 14 degrees celsius they say! It has been pretty cold here still and I really want to wear my spring coat. Old clothes seem new when you haven't worn them for 6 months. This card is about 2 1/2 by 4 inches. Quite small actually. I embossed the background with a cuttlebug folder. I think it adds a woodsy look with the "tree-like" pattern. The binoculars and words are rub-ons. I clear embossed over the binoculars and added the cute hodgepodge hardware frame.

little birdie

Quick card today! This little birdie is just to cute :) I cut it out of chipboard but it is modeled after the new birdie stampin up stamps that I saw in the catologue. Supply list:

  • ink- chocolate chip
  • paper- kaiser craft, chocolate chip, groovy guva, light pink
  • other- bird, clear ep, wire, ribbon, staples, brad, edge distresser

NEW blog header!

I was getting bored with my blog's layout, colours and header so I decided to make a change! I made this header based on CHF's challenge from back in september. I know my previous posts have been with light green text but now I will be doing darker text so you can read it better. What do you think of my blog's new look?

going digital

I have started using some digital accents on my projects. I like the rustic, antique look of old newspaper ads and tickets. The script is also a picture I found online. A couple of my favourite photo blogs are The Vintage Moth.. and Viewliner Ltd.
Spply list:
  • paper- baja breeze, digital images
  • other- ribbon, hemp, key charm, flower, bling brad, staples

post it book - a tutorial

A quick tutorial on my special post-it note booklet! I have made a few of these and they are very handy to carry in a purse or just leave on a desk. I am always thinking of brilliant ideas and then promptly forgetting them. If I have somewhere to write it I will remember it. Start with a rectangular piece of pattern paper. It is best to use double sided paper because some of both sides will show. The post-it notes I used were 3 by 5 inches. Any size will work but you will have to make your own measurements.
After you cut and score your paper, take about 10- 15 sticky notes off the top of your stack and place them on the middle panel of the book. No additional adhesive is nessesary. Add an envelpoe string closure or some other embelishment to finish it. It also looks good to ink the edges of the book on one or both sides.

A couple of pretty pictures from photobucket. I love these! They are probably photoshoped but hey! They are awesome!
