18th Birthday

Today I have some big news to share: I was accepted into the Interior Design Degree program at MRU! I start this fall! I registered for my classes today and am soo excited! Around 300 people applied for this program and I was one of the lucky 40 people who were chosen. I can't believe it! I feel so incredibly blessed, there are no other words for it.
I created this card for a friend who is turning 18 today! I hope you enjoy it!
I stamped the ticket and layered it on distressed pink paper. I used a busy background paper which is made possible by the simple design.
I used dollar store chipboard numbers, covered them in pink cardstock, coloured the edges with a black marker, and added stickles for a glittery finish! I hand stitched the circle using embroidery floss to add interest. The handmade clay flower gives another glittery pop.

Hunger Games Charm Necklace

I hope you all had an awesome weekend and a good start to the new work week. I know I am ready for a break! This was my weekend on, so after tomorrow I will have worked for 8 days straight! I am looking forward to my day off on Wednesday for sure!
Anyway, on to the crafty project! As expected I have not had much time for crafting, so today you will get to see something that i made a couple weeks ago. This necklace was part of my Mother's Day gift (previously mentioned on my Mother's Day post). It is a Hunger Games Charm creation made from polymer clay! Here is the video that I posted on Youtube.

I hope you enjoyed this project! Please let me know what you thought and tell me if you have any project requests! Thanks for visiting!

Berlin Mini Album + Video

Good evening bloggers! Sorry for not posting these pictures sooner! The video has been up for a couple days on Youtube but I wanted to post it here too. I have been very busy with work, baseball, and my boyfriend lately. Oh and it was also my birthday on the long weekend! It was an awesome time! I went out with friends on Friday night, had my family birthday dinner on Saturday, and had Andrew's awesome family over to our acreage to camp for the weekend. It was perfect!
Anyways, here is the Berlin Mini Album that I finished a few weeks ago. The video is a tad out of date as my crop day with Jordan was awhile ago too. I hope you still enjoy it!

The album is 3.5x5.5 inches, just slightly smaller than a 4x6 printed photo. I used my Cinch to bind it.
I love this camera pattern paper! throughout the ablum I cut out little cameras to use as embellishments. This paper is from Echo Park's This and That collection.
I used some of my beloved flower trim! I got this at Scrapbooker's Paradise and I believe it is from Maya Road.
Here I stamped the date with my date stamp (redundant!) and added one of my polymer clay flowers (for a tutorial on these, click here)
On the left hand page I used Marion Smith's pocket technique. She uses a single sheet, folds it in half, makes a slit for the pocket, and adheres the edges. You can see her do this in many of her printable mini album videos.
On the left you can see how I used Tim Holtz's glacine paper bags. I crinkled and inked it and set it using a heat gun.
Another Echo Park camera! :D
Here is combined hand written lettering and letter stickers for the title.
I used Stampin Up's round tab punch and added eyelets and ribbon for interest. This also creates a pocket by holding the edge together.
Here you can see a "full page spread" of a horizontal 4x6 photo. I just cut it down the middle.
I love adding real tickets and collected ephemera! Here is a yellow tag we got at the airport.
I wrote on the back of my photo after adding some ledger paper. This makes it very easy to keep my writing neat and straight.
On this shorter page I liked how the photo hung off the edge. 2x3 photos make it easy to include lots of small images in your albums!
I love this grunged-looking side view! Hope you enjoyed this album! Keep your eyes open for more upcoming projects (especially clay charms!)

Mother's Day Card

Though I had to work on Mother's Day, I think I still managed to spend a decent amount of time with my amazing and wonderful mom. Earlier this week I planted some flowers in a half barrel pot and left it in our sun room (because it is still a little too cold for plants at night here). I had hopelessly hoped that perhaps my mom would not notice it until Mother's Day, but of course it was one of the first things she saw after getting home that day (I had to do it early because it was my only day off!). The real surprise was this card and the necklace that I created for her. I will share pictures of my polymer clay necklace creation in the near future, but here is the card!
I went for a kind of shabby chic theme with this card. My mom's favourite colour is blue, so I had to incorporate that. The black accents give it a sort of edgy look I think :) I love this Basic Grey bird cage stamp! I embossed it with black powder.
I made the black rose using the smallest flower on Tim Holtz's tattered florals die. I added some silver perfect pearls to make it glimmer.
I hand-wrote the sentiment and cut it out like a banner (love doing this lately!).

I hope you all got to spend some quality time with your moms yesterday! I believe that we should treat everyday as mom's day! Not sure that I have time to make a card for her everyday though... hehe!

Birthday Card

My brother's birthday was this week and this is the card that I made for him. He just turned 17 but I thought it would be fun to create a kind of childish card because they are just so fun and cute! I cut the dinosaur out of some pattern paper; isn't he super adorable!?
I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment and cut it out like a banner. I popped part up with dimensionals so that it would appear to be in motion.
I used a Stampin' Up canvas background stamp on the background to give it some texture. I also love using wood grain recently, so I added that pattern too!
Thanks for visiting, hope you're having a great Saturday night!
