What I Have Been Up To!

I have been MIA from the blog for a little while due to life getting busy once again. I started a new job at the local library running the kids and teens Summer Reading Program. We spent about a month planning the whole program and have just started with the kids this week. It has been a blast and a wonderful experience so far and I can't wait to get to know the kids. The theme is travel, which is right up my alley! Below is a photo of a crane made from a map which is part of our travel display.

I also picked up a second job at my dream location: Scrapbooker's Paradise! It has been so wonderful to be back working in a scrappy store after so many years! I am even more excited to be starting teaching in the Fall! If you are in the Calgary area I would be so thankful if you were interested in being a part of this! I will have more details about the upcoming classes in mid August.

I also wanted to mention to everyone in the Calgary and surrounding areas that you are in my prayers. I hope that the flood relief has been successful and I wish that I could help every single one of you. Best of luck in your re-building stage.
On a completely different note, here are several other random updates for you. I have started a vintage camera collection! I have admired beauties like this for a very long time and finally got the opportunity to buy some from a local seller. I have most displayed in my room and I just love looking at them!
All of the cameras are Kodak or Polaroid. Some still have film in them!
I have always wanted to try planting succulents. They are just so beautiful to look at! Below are some that I planted mid June. They seem to be doing well so far.
My girlfriends and I recently went out for a sushi lunch. It was so amazing! If you have never had sushi from a restaurant and have only experienced "mall sushi" like I had, you are missing out! Below is a sushi roll called Happy Crunch from Globefish in Calgary Alberta. It contains avacado, lettuce, tempura flake, with spicy mayo wrapped with tuna and sesame!
We celebrated Canada Day on July 1st. I had a relaxing and fun long weekend. My future in-laws came to my parent's house and we all had a great time. Below is my dog Rocky wearing a Canada headband, too cute! The next day, July 2nd, we had to put down our oldest dog Skippy. She was always happy, cheerful, and brought a smile to our faces. She will be truly missed, but I believe she is in a better place.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day and all you Americans are having a great Independence Day! Thanks for visiting!

You are so inspiring Heather, keep on sharing. I am so sorry for your loss of Skippy. I too on July 2nd had to put my Maltese dog Winston down, hardest thing ever to do. God Bless you and all that you do.
