Just Print It: Giveaway Winner!

Happy Giveaway Announcement Day! So sorry that this is so late in the day, the time just got away from me! I am so happy with the experience that I gained in making all of the printables and it was such a fun process. Thank you for those who participated in my challenge and watched my process videos! I really appreciate all of your support and kind comments about the projects and printables. I plan to design more and I am even hoping to open a digital store in the future. I think this is a great way to get started in designing products, but I still have more research to do to sort out all the technicalities.
Now on to the good stuff: the WINNER! I selected a random winner out of those who participated in the challenge. That person is SUZY DUBE! Thank you Suzy for your beautiful pocket page entry! I have included an picture below so that you can all admire her beautiful work. This was the first pocket page that she ever attempted and I think it turned out amazing! Suzy, please contact me at heather.ulmer8@gmail.com and I will get your kit sent out to you right away!
Thank you again for all of your kind comments and participation throughout this series! I trully appreciate it!

Just Print It: Episode Five - Art Journal

Happy Thursday! Its almost the weekend again! Today I am sharing the fifth and final episode of my Just Print It series. It seems like the time has just flown by and I can't believe 5 weeks have passed already!

For this week's project I created and art journal page using my original Whimsical Cut Apart Sheet. This printable has some really fun images that you can print and colour, or use as-is on your art journaling pages, scrapbooking, or cards. I selected the fun "antler fairy house" and paired it with some of my hand-lettered brush script.

Below is the FREE printable! To use this, follow these steps:
  1. Click on the image
  2. Right click on the larger image that appears
  3. Select "save image as" and save it on to your computer
  4. Print the image. I like to insert it into a Word document first and print from there.
If you have any troubles, please email me at heather.ulmer8@gmail.com and I will send you the file.
These sketches were inspired by my polymer clay fairy houses, which you can see by clicking on the link. The wings are a good size for adding on to the houses, similar to what I did with the antlers. You could also cut the antlers off the house and use them alone too! Many possibilities!
The process of this page is explained in the video and I think watching that would be easier than me trying to type out the process. Then you can also see how much layering I do to get to this point. Remember, no two pages will ever look the same! I suggest just playing with some products you love and seeing what happens!
I really like the dimension and texture created with the UTEE and texture paste.
I feel like the quote, "different doesn't mean wrong", really suits this unusual little house!
Products Used:
Mist: Tattered Angels Plain Jane in "Teal"
Distress Stain:  "Antiqued Bronze" (Tim Holtz)

Lindy's Stamp Gang: Magicals "Poicianna Red Flame"
Water Based Dye: Magenta Nuance in "Cerulean Blue"
Texture Paste: Art Extravagance "White Crackle"

Dont forget to check out the process video! (currently uploading) and the ongoing giveaway! It closes on Tuesday the 27th and there are only a few entries, so hurry to get yours submitted!

Therapeutic Fall Layout

Happy Saturday! I have just posted a haul video on my Youtube channel, so please pop over there later if you want to see all the fun scrappy stuff that I got at a wonderful store called Treasured Memories in Edmonton AB.

Here on the blog I thought I would share a fun mixed media layout that i recently created. I was inspired by all of the fall products and mixed media techniques that Wilna Furstenberg has been using. She creates awesome video tutorials on Youtube and has classes on her website that are definitely worth checking out!
I used some of my old Cuttlebug dies to cut out all of these leaves. I watercoloured some using fall colours and dunked others in tea to created the tea dye look. I used my new irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to outline the coloured leaves in white. It is a really fun fine-line product that adds a bit of dimension.
The main background was created using watercolour paper. The other papers that I used are from the Imaginisce Apple Cider collection.

Here you can see I used some of my new Art Extravagance Texture Paste in White Crackle. I am really loving this product so far because it layers really well and creates beautiful Textures. On the background I also used a Prima woodgrain stencil with some Caramel Apple Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The other red mist is a Tattered Angels Plain Jane in the colour Clay.
I ruffled up some vellum to add dimension and texture under the photo. There is also a bit of blue watercolour paint in the background to coordinate with the blue sky in the photo.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Just Print It: Episode Four - Fall Cards

This week's Just Print It project is a fall card! The process video (currently uploading) at the end of this post shows how I created it using my original "Word Stickers" printable and in this post there is also a second bonus card!

I am calling the printable "stickers" even though technically they are just a cut apart. I chose to print the file on kraft cardstock and it turned out great! They look more brown on the print out (even though the design is shades of grey) and when I added Glossy Accents on top, they turned even more brown! You could also print directly on sticker paper or run them through a xyron sticker maker.

On another note, please also check out my giveaway post for details on how to enter!
Below is the FREE printable! To use this, follow these steps:
  1. Click on the image
  2. Right click on the larger image that appears
  3. Select "save image as" and save it on to your computer
  4. Print the image. I had to go to a print shop to do this because my printer doesn't print 12x12, but you could also size it down in a word document.
If you have any troubles, please email me at heather.ulmer8@gmail.com and I will send you the file.
I had a fun time creating this word tag using a Tim Holtz fragment piece. It is a unique way to use pattern paper or other little scraps.

The orange pattern paper I used is My Mind's Eye from the Jubilee collection. The wood grain paper is October Afternoon from the Weathervane collection.

Here is the second BONUS project using these word stickers. I created this one for a close friend because it is her birthday today! her favourite word is "imagine", so these word stickers were appropriate!
The ruffled background paper is, again, My Mind's Eye from the Jubilee collection and I just layered it with some die cuts and paper scraps.
I outlined the word "imagine" with Glossy Accents and, after letting it dry, added some ink to create a resist effect.
I included a few of the words inside too, just to add interest.
Thanks again for stopping by! I hope you have a chance to enter my giveaway! The deadline is fast approaching, so get your printables printed and on a project of your choice!

Trophy Bumper Layout

Hello all! I thought I would quickly share this fun layout before tomorrow's new printable is released. I have been having a lot of fun using the Feather Paper Printable and on this project I decided to cut some of them out to use as embellishments.
This photo is from our recent offroading trip to Dutch Creek where our bumper accidentally on purpose fell off. It was a hilarious event and I just love this photo!
I used several word stickers/labels here and they read: it is what it is, happy wife happy life, insufficient funds, and incident report. They are from Jillibean Soup and 7 Gypsies.
The striped burlap is from Recollections Halloween Boo, the black wood grain is Basic Grey Granola, the cream text is from Bella Blvd Estate Sale, and the awesome tire track pattern is SEI En Route.

The small letter stickers are from the Prima Engraver collection and the capitals are from Recollections. I think they really suit the feel of this page!

I hope you all enjoyed this project and please stop by tomorrow for this week's Just Print It episode and FREE printable!

Hello all! Here is Episode Three of my Just Print It series! Today's project is a scrapbooking layout and the feather background paper is the FREE printable! This page is titled West Coast and features pictures from our recent kayaking trip in Tofino, BC. It was such an incredible experience!

When I add photos here, they are automatically compressed. I have not yet figured out if it is possible to add a "download" button on here, so let me know if you have any tips!

Domain Name Change

Hello beautiful people! I have recently changed my blog's domain. Previously it was found at www.staybeautiful-tigergirl.blogspot.com, but if you try to visit that site it will now redirect you to www.heatherulmer.com. All the content is the same and I am keeping my years of previous blog posts. I feel that this is a much needed change, as my previous link was a bit long and annoying, as well as unprofessional.

I also have a website that I use more for my interior design career branding, but it is also linked here in the new tabs above. The site for that is heatherulmer.com, and for whatever reason, if you don't type in the "www" of my new blog domain it will take you there instead. At least it is cohesive now! If you do get lost and go to the wrong one, both pages are linked on each other (if that makes ANY sense.. it is a loop anyway).

I thought I would leave you with a sneak peek of tomorrow's Just Print It project! Don't forget to return to get the free printable!

Just Print It: Episode Two - Mixed Media Tag

Hello all! Today I am posting the second episode of my Just Print It series! This week's project is a little different. I created a tag printable and used it for the background of this mixed media tag. This printable is very versatile and you could use it on any type of project such as a layout or a card. I hope that you are able to use it and share your project with me so that you can be entered in my giveaway!
Below is the FREE printable! To use this, follow these steps:
  1. Click on the image
  2. Right click on the larger image that appears
  3. Select "save image as" and save it on to your computer
  4. Print the image. I like to put it in a word document first. It will already be sized to fit the Tim Holtz Tag Die (not including branding strip)
If you have any troubles, please email me at heather.ulmer8@gmail.com and I will send you the file.
If you do not have the tag die, this printable is very easy to cut out. There are diagonal lines in each of the top corners that indicate where to trim for a standard size tag.

Please check out the process video for this mixed media tag! (currently uploading)
